SA players abroad midweek round-up

With just a few matches taking place in midweek, South Africa’s foreign based players did fairly well for their respective teams.

Below is a brief summary of how they performed:

Bantu Mzwakali – Swedish Superettan

The former Ajax Cape Town and Bidvest Wits midfielder Bantu Mzwakali opened his goalscoring account in Europe with a match-winning performance for IK Brage who hammered Vasalunds IF 5-0.

Lorenzo Gordinho – Danish 1st Division

Having sealed his move to Denmark a few weeks ago, the former Kaizer Chiefs and Bidvest Wits defender came on as a late sub for Viborg FF who claimed a 3-1 success over Vendsyssel FF in their league encounter.

George Lebese – USL Championship

Lebese is now a regular feature, and played the entire 90 minutes for Colorado Springs Switchbacks who were held to a 0-0 stalemate by El Paso Locomotive.

Ayabulela Konqobe & Darren Smith – Finnish Second Division

The South African duo featured once again as Smith reached double figures for the season, netting his 10th league goal, as Ekenas IF played it out to a 1-1 draw against MuSa.
