Chiefs star striker relishes opportunity to work with Hunt

A new dawn has begun at Kaizer Chiefs ahead of the 2020/21 DStv Premiership term that gets underway next month.

For one Khama Billiat, the speedy striker is relishing the opportunity to work well with his new coach Gavin Hunt in order to aid his charges achieve better results than last season.

“I’ve always wanted to work with him [Gavin Hunt],” Billiat was quoted as saying on the club’s official website. “He’s a great coach who knows how to win.”

“We have seen with him, while coaching other clubs, that no player is ever guaranteed to play. He’s a coach who brings the best out of you.

“He makes players feel happy and that’s what we needed. You can feel it at training, there is a different energy,” he said.

The Zimbabwean attacker further explained on the expectations Hunt has set out for him, as well as putting last season’s disappointments behind them.

“He made it clear what he expected from me,” Billiat added.

“We had a good season as a team. We came so close to winning the league. It means that we have the soldiers and the capacity to succeed. We have to challenge ourselves to do just a bit more.”

Though the new season’s fixtures are yet to be released, reports are that the Glamour Boys will open the new campaign with a Soweto Derby clash against Swallows FC at FNB Stadium.
