The deal was completed after Hunt’s representatives met with the Chiefs management on Wednesday afternoon, and the 56-year-old mentor will be in the Chiefs dugout when the new term gets underway.
The Glamour Boys have been linked with Algerian coach Adel Amerouche and former tactician Stuart Baxter, though it is thought Hunt was always the frontrunner for the Amakhosi hotseat.
Chiefs are expected to make an announcement soon.
