Chiefs take home close to R12 million despite trophy-less season

Soweto giants Kaizer Chiefs surrendered the title race to Mamelodi Sundowns on the final day of the 2019/20 Absa Premiership season after leading the log standings for no less than 28 rounds of fixtures.

As the Glamour Boys now look to dust themselves off and have another go next season for a big institution not to dwell on the past, the Naturena outfit might have fallen below the belt in terms of their achievements but will not be ending the term empty handed.

Here’s a look at the prize money Chiefs will take home:

  • Absa Prem runners-up: R7,5 million
  • Absa Prem Q1 + Q2 winners: R3, million
  • Telkom Knockout Semifinal: R1 million
  • Nedbank Cup Round of 16: R200,000

Total = R11,7 million
