It is said Manchester City are prepared to offer a monstrous deal to complete the signing. The Blaugrana sniper has told the Spanish giants he wants out after nearly two decades at the Camp Nou. City are punted as the club in pole position to sign the Argentina captain but they face stiff competition from the likes of Inter Milan and Manchester United.

United have made contact with Messi’s father with the view of getting talks going, according to reports. However, it has emerged the Sky Blues are willing to give Barca three players, in addition to €100M (R2 billion) to sign Messi, according to Spanish outlet SPORT. The same report claims the City three come in the shape of Bernardo Silva, Gabriel Jesus and Eric Garcia.

Silva is someone well-liked at the Spanish club while it is understood there is already an agreement in place for Garcia to return to the Spanish club. As for Jesus, the 23-year-old could be a replacement for the said to be outgoing Luis Suarez this summer. City will, however, be hopeful the mega-deal offer will be enough to get Barcelona to listen.
