The 30-year-old Zimbabwean international was unable to get a great birthday present as his side succumbed to a defeat which further saw their title push suffer another major setback.

Billiat has found the net just once this season, his worst start to a campaign since his arrival in Mzansi back in 2010, which has seen him come under heavy scrutiny from Chiefs supporters who have continuously questioned his commitment to the club.

Amakhosi mentor Ernst Middendorp has admitted of Billiat’s struggles despite him consistently getting game-time, but insisted he would continue to show support for the former Mamelodi Sundowns man.

“We know it’s not a great season from Khama, but everybody knows there’s huge potential and we can only support him and put him into the next movement and expect that he will do better,” Middendorp said after the Celtic match.

The Glamour Boys will be looking to put their disappointing loss behind them, as they next prepare for their next clash against Stellenbosch FC on Sunday at Orlando Stadium.
