PSL club bolster squad with 7 additional new players!

Premier Soccer League outfit Cape Town City have bolstered their squad with the seven new players ahead of the resumption of the 2019/20 Absa Premiership campaign.

The Mother City-based club confirmed the promotion of six youngsters from their MultiChoice Diski Challenge side, with a new signing also coming in from Chippa Unitedโ€™s reserve team.

The Citizens have signed 19-year-old striker Diego Appollis from The Chilli Boys, where he enjoyed a stunning debut season in the reserve league as he netted 14 goals.

The Port Elizabeth-born teenager penned a three-year deal and is set to serve as a replacement for ex-Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs striker Siphelele Mthembu, who has been released.

City further announced that they have promoted six youngsters to the senior team namely: Olwethu Nyembe, Eyona Ndondo, Zaakir Allie, Taahir Goedeman, Jared van der Berg and Zuko Mdunyelwa.

Coach Jan Olde Riekerink will be hoping to see changes with anticipation that the injection of young blood will help his side as they aim for a top-eight finish in their remaining seven games of the season.
