With Orlando Stadium having been assigned as their home base for the remaining Absa Premiership matches, former captain Neil Tovey reckons Kaizer Chiefs will not be hindered.

The log leaders will get the league season resumption underway with a ‘home’ fixture against Bidvest Wits at Orlando Stadium on Wednesday, August 12, as they bid to consolidate their summit standings.

Despite the Glamour Boys being given their arch-rivals Orlando Pirates’ home ground, ‘Mokoko’ believes his former charges will cope just fine.

“Look, that’s what it’s about, getting these fixtures completed. They (used to) play there anyway when they played Pirates, so unless they play each other, no (it will not impact Chiefs),” Tovey told KickOff.com.

“Playing there can’t affect them, you were going to play home and away anyway. Pirates aren’t involved in the league (race), so they are not going to be involved in the shoot-out for the league (title).

“It won’t affect them; I can’t see that happening. They should be professionals and not let it worry them.”

“You don’t know how it’s going to turn out, all the teams are going to battle at first and the team that gets started and gets going quickest will sort it out. (Chiefs) are in pole position now, they should win it.

Amakhosi currently lead the standings with 48 points, four ahead of Mamelodi Sundowns, who have a game in hand, and play their first match against Pirates.
