Scottish giants Rangers comment on being linked with Zungu

Bafana Bafana star midfielder Bongani Zungu has been heavily link with a switch to Scottish giants Rangers, and the club has now finally commented on the reported move.

Zungu, 27, is currently in preseason training camp with his French Ligue 2 outfit Amiens SC, but is now expected to leave the club following their controversial relegation from France’s topflight ahead of the 2020/21 campaign.

According to Glasgow Times, Steven Gerrard’s assistant Garry McAllister, has admitted of being knowledgeable about the South African, though he added that they are looking at a host of other players.

“We know who Zungu is but our recruitment in bringing players to the club is ongoing,” McAllister said about Zungu.

“We’ve been speaking about hordes of players since lockdown. We are constantly on the lookout for players who can come into our team and make it better.”

Rangers are said to have been in negotiations for Zungu, with Amiens reportedly looking for a fee of around £4-million (over R75 million) for the Bafana international.
