WATCH: Liverpool LIFT Premier League trophy after 30-year wait!

LIVERPOOL celebrations finally came alive on Wednesday evening as the Merseyside club, after an incredible generation-long wait to lift the Premier League title, basked in the bright luminescence of a resounding fireworks display at their fortress of Anfield.

Ringing in the jovial atmosphere was the triumph over Chelsea in a eight-goal thriller, which ensured Chelsea would still have some work to do to confirm a Champions League spot – although against Wolves on Sunday – in their final fixture of the campaign. The Reds had already been confirmed league winners a few weeks ago, going into the affair, after Manchester City had lost to Chelsea, but were finally able to lift the famous trophy en masse.

Liverpool celebrated their lifting of the top-flight trophy with the presentation set up in the Kop with hundreds of banners draped along the famous end. Astute boss Jurgen Klopp was the first onto the podium for Liverpool, dancing up to the stage. Merseyside legend Kenny Dalglish was among those present at what will surely go down as one of the most iconic moments in the club’s history.

After conquering Europe, the world and now their own country, Liverpool beamed ecstatically as the club’s name became the seventh to be etched on the Premier League trophy. The Merseysiders join a group consisting of Manchester United, Blackburn Rovers, Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester City and Leicester City, as the clubs to make good on winning the prize.
