The 26-year-old speedy winger took to his social media pages last week to bid farewell to Brugge, where he enjoyed a successful loan spell, scoring four times with six assists in 30 appearances across all competitions for the Black and Blues.

Due to his struggle to get a UK working permit, which would allow him to play for his parent club Brighton and Hove Albion, Tau is reportedly on his way to Belgium to join giants RSC Anderlecht alongside former Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany.

According to Dutch website HLN, negotiations are in the final stages for the loan move of Tau from Brighton to the Purple & White.

Should the move for Tau be completed, he would become the first South African to have played for the club, though Anele Ngcongca, did spent nine fruitful years at their rivals KRC Genk between 2007 and 2016.

Anderlecht are also the club of former Kaizer Chiefs striker Knowledge Musona, though he has since seen his stay short-lived after failing to replicate the form he produced during his time at KV Oostende.

Tau still has two more years to run on his Brighton contract.
