CHELSEA, on the edge of securing a Champions League place for next season, are considering a summer swoop for Real Madrid flop Luka Jović, according to reports.

The supposed plot by The Blues comes on the backdrop of already having secured the services of Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner for next season. According to Spanish daily sports newspaper Mundo Deportivo, Chelsea have a keen eye on the happenings with Jović at the Bernabeu.

It is reported that Real Madrid will be prepared to sell the 22-year-old for just £31.3m (R661 million) this summer. The Spanish giants are prepared to take a loss on the star they signed for £55m (R1.2 billion) last year. Jović scored 36 goals and made nine assists in 75 games at his former club Eintracht Frankfurt in the German Bundesliga.

A plus for Chelsea and in what may be a thorn in the side of the Madrid hierarchy, Jović has failed to fire with Zinedine Zidane’s side in the current campaign, finding the net only twice in 25 games. But Lampard could sign the Serbia international as part of his summer overhaul at Stamford Bridge.
