SA football player shot and killed!

The South African football fraternity woke up yet to sad news on Monday morning of the passing away of another footballer who was shot and killed at the weekend.

Sanele ‘Zulu’ Mthembu, who originally hails from Umlazi in KwaZulu-Natal, was shot and killed in Cape Town this past weekend, though the motive behind his killing is unknown at the current moment.

At the time of his untimely death, Mthembu was employed by Western Cape ABC Motsepe League club Police FC.

The club took to their Facebook page to confirm the tragic news.

“It is with great sadness to announce the passing of our attacking midfielder Sanele “Zulu” Mthembu. He was shot last night in his neighborhood. May your soul rest in peace Zulu,” Police FC confirmed in a statement on their official Facebook page.

Mthembu’s death comes barely a week after former Baroka FC and Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila midfielder Khunadi ‘Kaka’ Nkoana passed on. He was buried in Limpopo this past weekend.
