Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi could finally play together!

CARLOS Tevez is hoping to pull off the audacious. The former Juventus and Manchester United and City striker plans to get Juventus’ Cristiano Ronaldo and the Catalans skipper Lionel Messi to play for the same team as part of a star-studded testimonial match.

The 36-year-old played alongside Ronaldo at Old Trafford for two years, and like many now – fans and perhaps detractors alike of the two greatest currently active footballers on the planet – would marvel at the sight of seeing them don the same side’s kit. Tevez, who currently plays for Argentine top-flight outfit Boca Juniors, also played alongside his compatriot Messi on many occasions on the international stage.

Tevez is reported to have the opportunity of calling on a number of legends for a special testimonial match, with the Argentine since revealing he would want to include Ronaldo and Messi in his starting XI, as part of the said event.

If I had to assemble the team, it would consist of [Gianluigi] Buffon, Hugo Ibarra, Rio Ferdinand, Gabriel Heinze, Patrice Evra, Andrea Pirlo, Paul Scholes, Paul Pogba, Cristiano [Ronaldo], Leo Messi and Wayne Rooney,” Tevez told Argentine station Radio La Red.

Tevez, discussing his future as questions surrounding his imminent retirement loom, insisted he isn’t committed to the idea of hanging his boots in the foreseeable future but would leave all and any possibilities open. “I leave all possibilities open [about my future], as I do not want to be a slave to my words … But I would like to return to West Ham to be applauded for six months, or spend six months at Corinthian.”

It is not immediately clear when the testimonial match will be played, or if the pair will even play, but Ronaldo has previously praised Messi for his incredible ability and dismissed the notion that there is an animosity that exists between them. Messi, on the other hand, has admitted he misses Ronaldo in La Liga after he left Real Madrid for Juventus in the summer of 2018.
