The 31-year-old forward revealed that he had engaged with the club over exercising the option on his contract however due to the pandemic, that option was not exercised.

“Well we did have talks about my contract because I have an option to renew, but due to COVID-19 we did not exercise it. I will leave as a free agent at the end of the season,” Macuphu told Soccer Laduma.

The former Chippa United striker has not revealed his next plans however insists that his focus at the moment is helping the Clever Boys complete the season.

“Look at the moment I’m just waiting for the season to end. It is disrespectful to talk of future teams when you are still in a club. We still have a number of league games plus we are in the Nedbank Cup semi-final,” Macuphu said.
