Though he is expected to return to Orlando Pirates at the end of the current campaign following his premature exit from Chippa United, it’s believed that Rulani Mokwena will not be retained by the Buccaneers beyond this season.
The 33-year-old former Bucs assistant coach joined the Chilli Boys earlier this year on loan until the end of this season, but saw his tenure abruptly end after just one match due to the coronavirus pandemic which has halted all football related activities.
Mokwena will now be on the lookout for employment elsewhere after his contract with Pirates also runs out at the end of this month.
“He signed the same number of years with Micho,” the source close to Pirates disclosed to KickOff.com.
“The club will not retain him when his contract expires at the end of the season.”
The former Mamelodi Sundowns assistant coach joined the Buccaneers three years ago with then head coach Milutin “Micho” Sredojevic, and is now set to leave the Soweto giants.
