BREAKING: PSL club members test positive for COVID-19

Following orders from the Premier Soccer League and SAFA to have all members from PSL clubs to undergo the first round of COVID-19 testing, it has been confirmed that three members from the Absa Premiership side Stellenbosch FC have tested positive.

All PSL clubs underwent the first round of the Coronavirus testing last week, ahead of a return to training and resumption of the 2019/2020 campaign.

According to a source in Sport24, the three staff members who tested positive include the club kit man, team manager, and one of the performance analysts while a player’s mother also tested positive.

The South African football governing body released a strict safety guideline titled ‘NSL Directive on Return to Training’ which highlighted that all clubs must adhere to testing before resuming training.

The second round of testing is also required before teams enter into a yet to be announced before the resumption of the remaining PSL fixtures.
