Since the announcement, questions regarding Wits University’s involvement in the sale were raised as they are closely affiliated with the football club, however, the Braamfontein-based University has finally confirmed that they have sold their shares in the club to the Bidvest entity.

The proceeds will be invested in the Wits Student Endowment Fund. Direct all queries to Bidvest Wits,” the university said on their official Twitter page.

With that being said, the club is currently busy as several players will not be relocating with the club such as captain Thulani Hlatshwayo and Deon Hotto, who are reportedly heading to Orlando Pirates and other who are still in talks with clubs in Gauteng.

The Clever Boys head coach Gavin Hunt is also a confirmed member of the people who are remaining in Johannesburg after the new club owner revealed that he will not retain the coach as he is out of his budget.
