The 49-year-old mentor, whose contract with the Team of Choice is set to expire at the end of next season, has also been linked with a return to Cape Town City.

Larry Brookstone has however assured that Da Gama still has a future with the Lions of the North.

“That’s rubbish,” Brookstone told KickOff.com regarding speculation the club is seeking a new head coach.

“Owen’s contract expires next season and also there is an option on his contract. I don’t want even to respond to those [rumours about Tinkler].”
