Health Minister Zweli Mkhize, on Monday 1 June, announced that the confirmed COVID-19 cases in South Africa have risen to 34 357.
This is an increase of 1 674, as the total number of confirmed cases stood at 32 683 on Sunday 31 May. Mkhize announced an updated death toll of 705. This is an increase of 22 as it stood at 683 on Sunday 31 May.
