The 31-year-old Colombian marksman was left hanging since before the start of the season, when he was expected to leave after being put on the transfer list, before head coach Ernst Middendorp took a u-turn on the decision to let him leave the club.

Since then, Castro has been in fine form for the Glamour Boys this campaign, registering seven league goals in 15 appearances with a further three assists, contributing immensely to the team being at the summit of the Absa Premiership standings as they look to bag league honours for the first time in four seasons.

The former Mamelodi Sundowns striker had offers on the table from clubs as far as North Africa, who are said to have been put off by the R4 million Chiefs were asking for the player.

With Castro’s current deal set to come to an end next month, the latest news from the club’s corridors is that he has agreed a deal in principle with the Naturena outfit, while the rest of the details will still be ironed out in the not-so distant future.
