CT City star gutted after failed Sundowns move

Despite being devastated after his move from Cape Town City to Mamelodi Sundowns failed to materialize, Edmilson Dove has since picked up the pieces and is now focused on helping City achieve their targets this term.

The 25-year-old left-back has been heavily linked with a big money move to the defending PSL champions since the January transfer window but the move was aborted amid the Covid-19 pandemic that has wreaked havoc across the globe.

“I don’t want to speak about that [move to Sundowns], the main focus for me is Cape Town City, whatever happens, will happen [after],” Dove was quoted as saying by SowetanLIVE.

“But other than that, the main focus is Cape Town City which is the club that is paying me and still contracted to. So yeah, I don’t want to keep my focus on situations that are not under my control and there is less to say about it.

“Unless of course there is something that comes up and I decide to look into it, ” he said.

The Mozambican national team captain has also been linked with a move to an unknown team in Portugal, and the Citizens could commence the 2020/21 Absa Premiership campaign without one of their key squad players.
