The Limpopo-based club is said to have been going way out of their ways to pay the well-traveled attacker a big fat salary, however, Phala is said to be a big problem for the club.

The former Kaizer Chiefs winger had limited game time with Lidoda Duvha this season, with the likes of Lesedi Kapinga and Tshwarelo Bereng coming first ahead of him.

The club’s spokesman Barry Ramunenyiwa refused to confirm nor deny the termination of the contract, insisting that the 33-year-old player is actually the one who should confirm his exit.

“I will speak to management and get back to you,” Ramunenyiwa told Goal.com.

“But out of respect for Thuso, I think he should comment since he is the one who started the fire. It’s better if it comes out of his own mouth.”

Phala, who moved to Limpopo as a free agent after he was released by SuperSport United early last year, made 13 appearances across all competitions for Leopards this season without scoring.
