Onyango, who has been Sundowns’ first-choice goalkeeper for close to a decade, is looking forward to teaming up with Ofori at Chloorkop, equally welcoming healthy competition.

“I don’t have a problem with competition. Richard Ofori can come. He’s welcome, “Onyango told Power FM Sport.

“I won’t be greedy because I can’t play when I’m 40 or 45 or 50. Others will have to take the team forward. And Ofori was here before he went to Maritzburg United.”

Should Ofori make the switch to the capital, he would not only be fighting for the number one jersey with the 34-year-old Ugandan captain, but with Zambian number one Kennedy Mweene and Reyaad Pieterse as well.
