The Glamour Boys could be dealt yet another huge blow by losing another high-profile player after George Maluleka signed a pre-contract with rivals Mamelodi Sundowns ahead of the 2020/21 Absa Premiership campaign.

Castro, 30, has found the back of the net on seven occasions in 15 league matches this term, and has already turned down a new contract offer from Amakhosi, after reportedly putting forth certain demands, that include regular game-time.

“One of the reasons why Castro wants to leave is because he is not happy about [the] limited game time at Chiefs. Remember, he left Sundowns for similar reasons,” said the source, according to Phakaathi.

“Castro doesn’t like sitting on the bench and Chiefs cannot guarantee him regular football next season, hence there’s a big chance that he will leave.”

With Chiefs already losing Maluleka, and with the club unable to bring in any potential talent due to the FIFA transfer ban that runs over two windows, it’s unknown at this stage if the Chiefs board would be keen to meet the Colombian’s demands or risk losing another player.
