Former Orlando Pirates star winger, Thabo Rakhale’s agent has revealed that his client will not be short of options once his client’s contract comes to an end at Chippa United.
Rakhale, Diamond Thopola and Lehlogonolo Masalesa, with Kurt Lentjies and Andile Mbenyane, were all shown the exit door by new head coach Rulani Mokoena upon his arrival at the Port Elizabeth-based club, though chairman Siviwe ‘Chippa’ Mpengesi later reversed the decision, saying that players would stay at the Chilli Boys until the end of the season.
Mandla Mthembu, refused to comment on rumours linking his client to Kaizer Chiefs, but admitted that there quite a few options on the table for the 30-year-old.
“I can’t comment on Chiefs (being interested in Rakhale) but the only comment I can make is that we will sit down and plan the way forward. He does have options,” Mthembu said, as quoted by IOL.
“Obviously we can’t reveal those at this stage.
“I can’t say if he will leave or stay. All I can say is that he will finish the season at Chippa United. That much I can confirm.
“What will happen beyond that, we are still going to sit down and discuss the way forward. He is left with three months now because it is April, May and June.
“He is under contract at Chippa, happy or not but he is still contracted to the club.
“He has got to honour that contract. I don’t want to get into that (whether he is happy or not). He is still a Chippa player and will continue to work hard.”
