Bafana star defender sends words of comfort amid COVID-19 lockdown!

Cape Town City defender Thamsanqa Mkhize has sent a touching message to the country ahead of the 21-day lockdown, explaining how it will affect football.

President Cyril Ramaphosa announced new regulations in the fight to avoid the spread of the pandemic Coronavirus in South Africa by declaring a 21-day lockdown with the Citizens captain sending out words of comfort during the isolation period.

“I would like to pass my words of comfort and encouragement for those who have been infected by this virus that has disturbed the whole world, the Coronavirus,” said Mkhize as quoted by Soccer Laduma

“Wishing them a speedy recovery and to all those who have not been infected, I would like all of us to follow all the safety measures that we are being told in order to keep us safe and protected from the virus.”    

“This virus has even affected the game we love, football,” the defender said. “We miss our supporters dearly and we look forward to reuniting with you after the dust has settled and the virus has been stopped.”
