When quizzed about the reimbursements for purchased tickets, Khoza said:

“It’s a state of national disaster – a force majeure so there are issues that fall off beyond that point,” said Khoza according to Soccer Laduma.

“I am told there were about plus minus 12 000 tickets that had been sold for that game (Downs versus Pirates) so it is easy to manage. That is why we wanted to have this press conference and give everyone the heads up, players not to go to camp or travel and book hotels.

“A case in point is the Grand Prix where they said they could not issue refunds because the hotel is available, but you can imagine when there’s a virus. So we are trying to avoid that for supporters.”

“With the tickets we can deal with that, especially if people have got their tickets and not the ones that have been forged – we can’t pay for those ones. That will be engaged by the CEO’s office along with the clubs,” said Khoza.

It’s unknown at this point till when matches will remain suspended.
