Kaizer Chiefs star player Leonardo Castro could be spending his last days with Amakhosi after hinting that he could be gone by the end of the season.
Castro’s response to his current contract situation really raised eyebrows considering the fact that his contract is due by the end of the season and no news has been aired regarding his future at Naturena.
Chiefs earlier on announced the contract extension of players whose contracts will expire when the season ends such as Bernard Parker, Daniel Akpeyi, Willard Katsande, and Daniel Cardoso.
However, there’s no news regarding George Maluleka, Siphelele Ntshangase, and the Colombian striker who directed all the questions regarding his contract to management.
“Look guys, this part of the questions you can direct to the management and the manager [coach Ernst Middendorp]. They will talk to you and that way you can find the answers,” Castro told KickOff.Com
“I know I have the chance to be a local player, which is an advantage for any team here in South Africa,” he added.
“But my focus is now to finalize the number one spot in the league, and we are working hard towards this.”
The 30-year-old striker was on the verge of being axed at the start of the season however he showed up for coach Ernst Middendorp during the pre-season and has since been a regular starter with eight goals in 16 appearances in all competitions thus far.
