Following his confession that there was a stumbling block with his contract negotiations at Mamelodi Sundowns, Pitso Mosimane is now said to have attracted huge interest from North Africa.
Mosimane’s current contract is set to expire at the end of the season, and according The Citizen, the Brazilians are preparing for Mosimane’s possible departure from Chloorkop as they have started looking for a coach.
The 55-year-old outspoken coach has admitted that only 20 percent of the deal was incomplete, assuring that it had nothing to do with money but rather principle.
Egyptian giants Al Ahly are now said to be tracking Mosimane, with the possibility of luring him to the Land of the Pharaohs.
“Ahly have made contact and I can tell you representatives from both parties have already met over a potential deal to recruit Mosimane, ” The Citizen reported.
“Al Ahly have had him in their list, but couldn’t lure him due to his long-term contract.
“The current situation presents a better chance to finally secure him. Mosimane is keen to continue at Sundowns, but it’s all up to the club.
“There’s a lot of uncertainty. And the next three weeks will be crucial as Al Ahly are also advancing their talks, ” the report further added.
The former Bafana Bafana mentor has already led Sundowns to Telkom Knockout triumph this season, and are also still within a chance to win the treble, as they are involved in the CAF Champions League as well as the Absa Premiership.
