Cape Town City have reportedly parted ways with midfielder Mark Mayambela on mutual agreement.
According to KickOff.Com, both parties have finally reached an agreement to have his contract terminated.
The 32-year-old midfielder joined the Citizens at the beginning of the season after former coach Benni McCarthy vouched for him.
‘Professor’ joined the Mother City club during tough times with the club owner John Comitis not keen on the signing dragging the signing for more than two weeks before he was officially part of the team.
Now following McCarthy’s departure, Mayambel has found himself spending time on the bench than on the pitch calling out for an immediate release.
“I am no longer with the club. We have gone separate ways,” Mayembela told KickOff.com.
“At the moment I am discussing my future with my agent.”
The Citizens are expected to further make some adjustments to decide on defender Tshepo Gumede, who is currently training with the club with hopes of securing a deal after parting ways with Usuthu.
Another player who is expected to leave City before the transfer window closes is former Orlando Pirates winger Riyaad Norodien.
