Rhulani absent at Pirates: here’s why!

Newly appointed Orlando Pirates head coach Josef Zinnbauer has given an insight into the absence of assistant coach Rhulani Mokwena from the team’s bench when they played Bloemfontein Celtic.

The Bucs assistant coach was hard not to notice on the Pirates bench in their first Absa Premiership clash of the year on Saturday at Dr. Molemela Stadium, with the new coach explaining why Mokwena was not on his side.

“He is on leave,” said Zinnbauer without elaborating much as quoted by KickOff.com.

The German assured the media during his post-match interview that Mokwena is still part of the coaching staff although it remains unknown how long the young coach will be away as no information was given on his absenteeism.

The Soweto giants were held to a 1-1 draw by Siwelele, however will be looking to redeem themselves when they visit Polokwane City at Peter Mokaba Stadium on Tuesday evening.
