The Brazilians have now opened up two strikers’ positions at the club after terminating former Bafana Bafana hitman Tokelo Rantie’s contract for reportedly going AWOL at the Chloorkop outfit for a month.

Another striker, Emiliano Tade, asked to be released from his contract after admitting he did not want to play football anymore because of recurring injuries, and said he would be focusing on other ventures.

Musona, 29, who plies his trade for Belgium Jupiler League giants Anderlecht, has been heavily linked with an exit from the club after netting just once in six outings since joining them from KV Oostende in July 2018.

Mosimane has spoken about the possibility of having the “Smiling Assassin” in his squad should he become available.

“Would you have Knowledge Musona if he is available? Yes of course why not if he is available, ” Mosimane said according to FarPost.

“Yeah he’s the kind of player that I would take because I know he scores goals and he’s a fighter, you know he’s like Khama Billiat – he’s strong, his attitude is right, he’s a good player so if we can get him yes why not I would like to have him,” he added.

The Zimbabwean international captain made a name for himself at the Glamour Boys in two separated stints between 2009 and 2011 & 2013 and 2014), scoring a total of 27 goals in 68 encounters.
