ANC chairperson in the Tshwane region Kgosi Maepa has accused the Tshwane Speaker of being a ‘witch’.
The ANC and Tshwane Speaker Katlego Mathebe are in a legal battle at the North Gauteng High Court.
Mathebe and the former mayor of Tshwane Stevens Mokgalapa are challenging their removal from the council.
Mathebe and Mokgalapa were removed in motions of no confidence against them in the council earlier this month.
As the court battle continues, Maepa, who played a huge role in the removal of the duo, says he is tempted to agree with the sentiments that Mathebe is a witch.
Maepa and his party want the removal of both Mokgalapa and Mathebe to stand.
Should the court ruled in favour of the ANC, it is expected that the party will call for the election of the new Mayor and Speaker in the next council sitting early next year.
The City, which has been placed under the administration of the Gauteng provincial government, is currently run by the DA.
