Middendorp backs Chiefs goalpoachers for PSL Golden Boot!

Kaizer Chiefs head coach Ernst Middendorp heaped praise on the club’s strike duo Serbian Samir Nurkovic and Colombian Leonardo Castro’s synergy that has seen the two players in the PSL top goalscorers’ chart.

“Kokota” scored his first hat-trick in their Absa Premiership clash against Bloemfontein Celtic to top the goalscorer chart with a total of eight goals.

Castro, on the other hand, scored a brace to give his a 5-3 win against Phunya Sele Sele.

The German mentor expressed his delight for his player’s recent form and scoring ability topping the Absa Premiership with 28 goals after 13 games.

“I don’t doubt that my strikers at the end of the season will be counted amongst some of the top goal scorers in the league,” Middendorp told Isolezwe.

“What makes me happy about Castro and Samir is they work well together and they have an understanding, they help each other.

“They both know which numbers they need to reach for them to be counted with the top goal scorers in the league and to get the top goalscorer prize at the end of the season,” said Middendorp.

The Glamour Boys will be looking to replicate their recent form when they visit Maritzburg United in their Absa Premiership clash on Sunday, December 22 at Harry Gwala Stadium.
