Gardee pleased with the registration of the EFF voting delegates

EFF Secretary-General Godrich Gardee is confident that registration of the delegates will be completed by the end of today.

Gardee addressed the public about the state of registration of delegates on the EFF’s first day of the People’s Assembly.

EFF delegates are congregating at the Nasrec Expo Centre to elect new leadership this weekend.

About 3800 delegates are expected to take part in the party’s second People’s Assembly this weekend.

Gardee, who is looking to retain his position as Secretary-General, was pleased with the pace of delegates registration.

” We are pleased to inform you that registration for the Second National People’s Assembly opened as planned this morning at 09H00 at the University of Johannesburg. We are proud to also indicate that as of Midday, 2100 of the 3800 delegates have been registered. Gardee said.

” This is already above the 50% target in 3 hours. With this speed, registration should be concluded by 16h00 latest.”

The out-going Secretary-General has also confirmed all the delegates from different provinces have arrived safely in Johannesburg.

EFF leader Julius Malema expected to retain his position at the end of People’s Assembly Conference.

The country’s third-largest party will elect a new top six leadership and also the new central command team, which is the party’s highest decision-making body.
