The third-largest party in the country will congregate in Nasrec to elect the new leadership.
Friday’s proceedings will see President Julius Malema formally welcoming the delegates from different provinces.
Then the focus will turn to the party’s secretary-general Godrich Gardee to give organisational diagnosis report.
Gardee, who is expected to face stiff competition for his position, is expected to list all the party’s success under the out-going leadership.
Since the out-going leadership was elected in Manguang, Bloemfontein in 2014, the party has grown its base in different provinces.
The party increased its seats in the National Assembly from 25 to 44 in the last general elections.
However, the biggest task of the day going into the weekend will be the nominations process and elections of the new leadership.
Malema is expected to be nominated and elected the party President, while the other top positions are expected to hotly contested.
