He says the unprecedented blackouts has placed South Africa’s economy on its knees and in the grip of a state monopoly that is not serving South Africa.

Steenhuisen slammed President Ramaphosas choice to take a trip to Egypt while Eskom is on the verge of throwing South Africa’s economy over the edge.

He says the President is greatly mistaken if he believes the crisis can be fixed over the phone or on his i-pad and that it requires on the ground leadership.

‘It requires decisive leadership and not just the platitudes we had”, Steenhuisen said.
