The former ANC member of Parliament Turok passed away at the age of 92 on Monday.

Turok served as an ANC’s member of Parliament at the dawn of democracy in 1994.

IFP member of Parliament Narend Singh says Turok was an inspirational leader to everyone.

” Prof Turok’s inspirational and true example of integrity and candidness in character is what we hold onto at this time in which our country mourns his loss,” Singh said.

” The news of the passing on of a formidable giant in fighting for our freedom and in speaking out against inequality, social injustice and a fervent defender of our democracy, Prof Ben Turok, has brought deep sadness to our country.”
