The former Orlando Pirates midfielder was named man of the match in Sundowns’ 2-1 Telkom Knockout semi-final win against Golden Arrows two weeks ago and now earned himself some recognition on the continental stage.

The 29-year-old midfielder has now been selected in a three-man midfield that includes Al Ahly duo Amr El Solia and Mohammed Magdy Afsha.

Strikers of the week include Etoile de Sahel’s Karimi Aribi, Anice Badri of Esperance de Tunis and Achraf Bencharki of Zamalek.

Meanwhile, the defence consists of Al Ahly’s Wael Gomaa, Abdel Kader Bedrane of Esperance de Tunis, Abdullatif Noussir of WAC, Al Ahli Tripoli’s Sanad Al-Warfali and goalkeeper Achraf Krir of Etoile de Sahel.

Masandawana are currently occupying the first place on Group C with four points following a 3-0 win over Angolan Petro de Luanda and a goalless draw against Casablanca in Morocco.

Coach Pitso Mosimane’s charges will next head off to Algeria for their next match against USM Alger on December 27.
