Mbalula to make “ground-breaking” announcement on PRASA leadership, Management

Transport Minister Fikile Mbalula will on Monday announce changes of leadership and management of Passenger Rail Agency of South Africa (PRASA).

The announcement comes after Mbalula had previously expressed that the appointment of a permanent board for the rail agency would be announced in due course.

Mbalula expressed that the appointment would “restore stability” in the rail agency after it received a disclaimed audit opinion for the 2018/19 financial year, reports Fin24.

According to Chron, a disclaimed audit opinion is when an auditor cannot complete an accurate report over a number of reasons such as the absence of appropriate financial records.

Employee verification process, qualification and skills audit will be conducted to root out the appointment of unqualified managers, furthermore explains Fin24.

The “ground-breaking” announcement will be made at PRASA Umjantshi House in Braamfontein, Johannesburg.
