Gunman opens fire at church leaving fourteen dead

Fourteen people have been killed after gunman opened fire inside a church in Burkina Faso.

Officials says they are still investigating the matter and the identity of the gunman is not known and the motive is unclear.

In the past few years hundreds of people have been killed in the country due to ethnic fighting. Attacks have increased since 2015 forcing thousands of schools to close down.

Two people are in a critical condition, no fatalities have yet been reported.  

Police say a suspect has been apprehended but the latest say the person possible involvement was still under investigation and that no arrest had yet been made.

The victims have all been taken to hospital.
