According to The South African, Rupert currently owns a 50% stake in the Bulls but it is understood that Mamelodi Sundown’s owner Motsepe is preparing to bid 37.5% for himself, reducing Rupert’s investment to the same number.
As a collective, they would form a multi-billion rand collaboration and take a regulating stake of the club, leaving just 25% for possible investors.
Rupert is the third richest man in South Africa, with a personal fortune of approximately R105 billion followed by Motsepe in fourth with R35 billion, making him the wealthiest black South African.
