It was a good weekend for South Africa’s foreign contingency who ply their trade abroad, and this is how they fared for their respective teams.

Lebogang Phiri – French Ligue 2

The Bafana Bafana midfielder, who captained EA Guingamp, put in a great shift to lead his charges to a 4-1 home thrashing of Rodez Averyon as they moved into 10th position on the log standings.

Keanin Ayer – Swedish Second Division

The 19-year-old continued his fine form for Varbergs Bois, netting in his side’s 4-0 win over Vasteras as they increased their promotion chances with just three matches left in the campaign.

Ayer has featured in 26 of their 27 matches, and are now just two points adrift of log leaders Mjallby.

Percy Tau – Belgium First Division

The ‘Lion of Judah’ had little impact as he had to be stretchered off the park in the 39th minute, but Club Brugge still went on to claim maximum points with a 4-0 trouncing of Gent to consolidate their summit standings.

Bongani Zungu – French Ligue 1

‘Ben 10’ came on in the last five minutes for Amiens SC who ran riot over Olympique Marseille with a 3-1 win.

Ayanda Patosi – United Arab Emirates

In what was a fiercely-contested encounter, Patosi played a pivotal part as he grabbed an assist in Baniyas’ hard-fought 4-3 win over Al Wahda as they moved into sixth spot after three matches.

Lars Veldwijk – Dutch Eredivisie

Veldwijk was a 59th minute substitute for Sparta Rotterdam as they claimed a hard-fought 2-1 win over FC Twente.

Kgosi Ntlhe – English League Two

The Bafana Bafana left-back came on in the second period to help Scunthorpe United salvage a 2-2 draw against Plymouth Argyle.

May Mahlangu – Kazakhstan Premier League

The former Bafana Bafana man featured for the entire game as Ordabasy secured a 1-1 draw at home against Astana.

Hendrick Ekstein – Azerbaijan Premier League

The former Kaizer Chiefs midfielder was on the losing side as Sabah FC succumbed to a 2-0 defeat away to run-away league leaders Qarabag.

Lebogang Mothiba – French Ligue 1

The Bafana Bafana frontman has been struggling for form of late and featured in RC Strasbourg’s 1-0 defeat to Dijon.

Kamohelo Mokotjo – English Championship

Mokotjo was a 78th minute substitute for Brentford FC who narrowly went down 1-0 Nottingham Forest.
