Ihhashi Elimhlophe on Ifalakhe gig: ‘It was not easy’

Legendary Maskandi Ihhashi Elimhlophe has scored his first-ever acting gig.

The singer who has been in the music industry for over 40 years, brings to life the character of King Ndukuzakhe on Mzansi Magic new drama series, Ifalakhe.

Speaking to Daily Worthing about his first-ever acting role, Ihhashi whose real name is Bheki Ngcobo says it was not easy portraying the role of King Ndukuzakhe as he was not comfortable in acting.

“To be honest, it was nerve-wracking when we began recording, but as time went on, I began to enjoy myself and if given the opportunity I would do it again,” he said.

The legend who was head-hunted for the role told Daily Worthing that he never had any interest in acting and it took a lot of convincing from his family to consider taking the role.

“I never thought I would be an actor, at first I rejected the offer, but later accepted it as my wife and kids convinced to give it a try.”

Almost sounding like he was blushing, the muso told us that his wife who also acts on Giyani Land of the Blood played a huge role in his acting debut.

“My wife (Mam-Ngcobo) who is also an actress has been was very supportive throughout, she helped me a lot in terms of preparing for my role,” he said.

The singer is currently promoting his 29th studio album AmaWazaWaza, plays the character of King Ndukuzakhe of the Khanya people who is beheaded during war by King Khombindlela of the Okuhle people.
