FIFA Awards: Van Dijk favourite to win men’s player award

Liverpool centre-back Virgil Van Dijk is hots-on favourite to land the Best FIFA Men’s Player award ahead of Barcelona star Lionel Messi and Juventus ace Cristiano Ronaldo at the Teatro alla Scala in Milan, Italy.

The Dutch captain won the UEFA Champions League competition with Liverpool after defeating Tottenham Hotspur 2-0 in the final at the Wanda Metropolitano Stadium, Madrid.

He went on to add the UEFA Men’s Player of the Season award to his accolades on August 29 in Monaco, France.

The FIFA Awards are scheduled to start at the Teatro alla Scala on Monday night at 19:00.
