Eto’o calls time on 22-year illustrious career

Legendary Cameroonian footballer Samuel Eto’o has finally decided to hang up his boots after a 22-year trophy-laden career.

The four-time African Player of the Year signaled the end to his 22-year playing career with a post on his Instagram account at the weekend.

Eto’o, who notched up 56 goals in 118 games for the Indomitable Lions, also enjoyed some time in the English Premier League with Chelsea and Everton.

Last year, after a short spell with Turkish side Konyaspor, he joined Qatar Sports Club, which was his last club, scoring six goals in 17 appearances.
