The Premier Soccer League has been hit hard with attendance figures for the past seasons, and ‘Jingles’ feels they can sell the club through playing eye-catching football.

Sundowns are known to be a “shoe-shine and piano” club, and fans have developed a tradition of staying behind to sing after games whether the team has won or lost.

They had good attendances in their Caf Champions League games as well, though they lost 2-1 away to Congolese club in the 1st leg of their preliminary round on Sunday.

Speaking to Kickoff.com, Pitso said:

“What makes a product to be wanted? The product must be good, it must be a product that you can sell and market. So our job is to make sure that our product, which is Sundowns Football Club, to be that product that people should want. If you don’t play well, people won’t come. You know South Africans, people won’t come.”

“Especially the Sundowns supporters. They don’t just want to win, they want to win good. So my job is to make sure the product is right and that we can sell and market it. If that is right, I think the stadiums will get there. I’m also saying to the people doing marketing at Sundowns, this is an international product, so we need to do more to sell this product.”

The club will be hoping to increase a number of supporters at the stands by playing entertaining football in 2019/20 season.
