The rumour mill regarding Billiat’s possible departure from Naturena continues to spiral, and on Tuesday, Masandawana’s acting general manager, Yogesh Singh, confirmed that the Brazilians were in “ongoing” talks with Chiefs over the sale of the 28-year-old.

According to SoccerLaduma, the Zimbabwean attacker’s former employers have put forth a bid in the region of over R10 million to reunite with their former striker, who enjoyed great success at the club.

Billiat left Chloorkop to jump ship in 2018 on a free transfer, and still has two years left on his Chiefs contract, which means should he make a return to the Brazilians, they would have to cash him out of his two-year remaining contract (until June 2021).

His wages will also sky-rocket, making him among, if not, the highest-paid player in South African football.

The Naturena outfit has already turned down a R27 million deal for the Warriors man from North African giants Al Ahly, as he was reluctant to skip the country.

It remains to be seen though if Chiefs would give in on Sundowns’ offer or hold on to their man who’s been at the club for just one season.
