Retired Supersport United defender Thabo September has backed striker Thamsanqa Gabuza to shine ahead of their clash against Orlando Pirates this evening.
Since switching from Pirates to Matsatsantsa a Pitori during the off-season, Gabuza will face his former team for the first time after making his debut in their Tshwane Derby loss to Mamelodi Sundowns.
The 32-year-old is expected to lead SuperSport’s attacking line alongside Bradley Grobler when they go against the Sea Robbers.
“It’s a big game. I believe Gabuza will do well. He is coming up against his former club and I am sure he will be motivated to do well, ” he told KickOff.com
“I think he is in the right place now where he is not playing under pressure. He has the support from the club and the fans and the only thing he has to do is to perform and not put himself under pressure. We all know that he is a good player.”
Kaitano Tembo’s team lost 2-0 in their first game to Sundowns, and come into this tie looking to pick up their first points of the season.
The match gets underway at Mbombela Stadium at 19h30.
